What exactly is going on here?

I've been dating this guy for about 2 + months. We're pretty close and always have a good time together. We haven't slept together or anything like that but he does ask me to stay the night pretty much every night. We often get in to pretty pionate discussions about things but they are never over anything detrimental just his opionion versus mine and I always enjoyed a converstaion with someone who challeges me and stands their ground about things they believe in. I think it shows good character. When we had a discussion about our "arguments" he said he never argued with anyone like he does with me and when I told him my veiw on the situation he said that it was a good way of looking at it and we left it at that. This past weekend we were laying on the couch and he sent a text to his friend saying he never argued with someone as much as he argued with me etc... His friend wrote him back and said it wasn't necessarily a bad thing considering the nature of the situation and he should
