What purpose does a plant bear fruit?

I have done alittle research to look for a logical answer for this question. The most popular answer is actually very vague. I refuse to believe that the reason plants bear fruit, because they know humans and animals eat it and SOMEHOW know that their seeds will not digest in their systems, allowing a plant to spread in a remarkable way! I SAY BULL! There is no possible way a plant can understand how animals or even humans operate and function. It is impossible for a plant to have intellectual understanding of an animals internal anatomy, so they cant be aware of what happens between the moment of consumption to becoming apart of fecal matter. What are your personal theories?
