How do i use my Emirates airpoints?

I have something like 7000 Emirates airpoints on my skywards membership. I fly often from Auckland to Sydney and i was wondering does anyone know if you can use your airpoints to help pay for a flight? 7000 isn't enough to get me anywhere really, but could i use the points to decrease the airfare?
