How does Girl Talk (Greg Gillis) NOT get sued? ?

Girl Talk is a DJ that makes "mash-up" songs that consist entirely of other artist's material. I love Girl Talk and think it is one of the most innovative things in music today...but how does he avoid getting sued ALL THE TIME?!?!
